Exquisite Salon And Spa Informative - Too Hot In The Summer And Unprofessional Employees

Review by Yelena on 2007-06-19
GERMANTOWN, MARYLAND -- I came to the salon to get my pedicure, manecure, and waxing on June 16 2007 at 5:00 PM. It was 90 degrees outside, but the air conditioning was not turned on. I told my stylist that I suffer from asthma, and can't take the heat, and asked her politely to turn on the air conditioning. Instead of doing that, she made fun of me. She said something to her coworkers in her native language about my asthma, and they all laughed. At least the place owner listened to me, and turned the air on.

It's not the first time when they did not turn on the air conditioning on the hot day. I am their regular customer, and I like the service. Yet, I may have to find an air conditioned salon if the problem continues. I explained them that I can't take heat, and asked them to have the air own at least during my appointment time, but they don't take it seriously.

Also, I think it's very rude for the stylists to speak their native language in front of me. I don't know that language. English is my second language also, but I never spoke my native language in front of the customers who don't understand it. I have been shy to tell it to the stylist directly, but I implied several times.

I would appreciate if the problems above are corrected as soon as possible. I really don't understand the people who keep it to themselves when they have a problem. It's important to speak up, so that the problem can be fixed.

You should go in there with George's dad.

If you don't know that language, how do you know they were talking about your asthma. You have no idea what they were talking about. You probably are just nosy and wanted to know what they were talking about. It just kills you that you don't know what they are talking about. Or maybe this story is false and you are just coping the Seinfield eposide like aszidek said.

gb, you must be having a bad day today. Why so glum, chum?

Guys, I never watched Seinfield! This is a real story, and I am not having a bad day. I told her that it was really hot for me in the salon. Instead of adjusting the thermostat, she said something in Vietnamese to her coworkers, and they laughed. Then, I repeated my complain, and she did not react. At first, she should listen to a customer. She never listened to me. Also, I noticed that most of the employees at that place don't understand the customers, but they pretend that they do.

I had another problem with that place before. I had an appointment at 10:00 AM. The stylist was 30 minutes late. When she finally got there, she rashed through my manecure and waxing. She did a horrible job with my eyebrowses. A lot of hair that was supposed to be waxed was left. Then, she did not trim the rest of the hair. Moreover, I got a bad skin infection from the procedure. The skin broke out, and I had puss under the skin. I was swallen for one week.

And few more words about the professionalism. I come to salon to relax and to get the service. The stylist really needs to pay attention to what she is doing. She can't pay 100% or at least 80% attention if she is blabbing with her coworkers all the time during my appointment. And she can injure me as well if she is talking all the time. It's feels like I have a radio next to me, not a stylist. :)

Yelena, pay no mind to ghostbuster. He's like 10 and doesn't have a clue.
Posted by Anonymous on 2007-06-19:
*Brenda* you're like mensa smart aren't you?
Posted by Anonymous on 2007-06-19:
Smarter than the average housewife, I'd say.

I always wondered what kind of 'men' it took to harass *Brenda*. Now I know the answer. One isn't even a man at all.

Yelena, my "bad day" comment was to ghostbuster, not you :). Also, I wasn't implying you were making this up - I just thought it was funny because it resembles very closely an episode of the TV show. I actually agree with everything you say; I suggest you find another salon to go to.

Yelena...I fail to see why you dont go elsewhere. Not wroth the effort to stay. But, every nail salon I have ever been to in and around Chgo had foreign speaking poeple talking while doing nails. Yes it's rude but it's what goes on. And I wouldn't want to have to ask a business to turn the AC on in 90 degree weather...are they insane? Go someplace that knows to have it on before customers have to ask.

emt, it's pretty sad that these "men", who are probably at least 15-20 years older than me, are so immature!

Brenda, I'm at least 30 years older then you and you seem very mature to me so just concider the source and let it ride....

Brenda, pirate is still smarting from that can of "wupa$$" that you laid on him a while back. Don't let Stewart get to you, he's a harmless, overweight juvenile delinquent.

Thanks Lidman! Thanks zzrokk! number1svc, I don't think you're immature at all. There's a difference between having fun and enjoying life and acting like a child.
