Getty Gas Station Complaint - Getty Gas Station of Lynbrook

Review by Kim1123 on 2007-06-19
LYNBROOK, NEW YORK -- It was late Sunday night when I realized I had a flat tire so I pulled into a Getty Gas station down the block from my house. They were closed, so I decided to leave my car(with my keys inside). I left a note with my phone number saying to fix the flat. The next morning aroun 9am I came in to check on my car. They didn't look at it yet. They said it would be done in a few hours and that it will definately be ready by 5pm. I called and it wasn't going to be ready until Tuesday morning. I called Tues. morning and they said it would be ready in 30min. I called after 30min. and they said it wouldnt be ready for another 30min. because they realized that they ordered the wrong tire and it would take another half hour for the actual tire to come in. Im very upset because they only started working on my car tues. morning when they promised it would be ready on monday. How long does it take to change a tire? They have the worst service. They kept jerking me around.I will never go back there again.

Kim,

They may have had other cars to work on before you left your car there with no appointment.

You took a chance leaving yur keys in the car overnight at a closed gas station.

"How long does it take to change a tire?"

Go ahead. I'll time you.

You are lucky that your car wasn't stolen or vandalized. They would not have been responsible.

You just left your car outside a closed business and expected them to have exactly what your vehicle needed in stock and to repair yours before the others with appointments? Self absorbed, much?

A simple task turned into a major affair. If you didn't have a spare tire, some repair shops have mobile service. Another option is a tire shop that fixes flats for about 8 dollars. A taxi could have been utilized.
