Sony Electronics Inc Complaint - Defective parts ripoff
DAYTON, OHIO -- My television died after just over one year. Sony offered to replace the part and reimburse me for a part called a "light box". I could not find the receipt and American Express refused to give me a copy. A Sony representative told me they would send me a letter that would suffice as a proof of purchase and to go ahead and get the work done before a deadline.
The letter never arrived. I got the work done before the deadline but am now out $2589 because now Sony says they do not offer such proof of purchase.
I could have used that money to buy a new TV that does not have defective parts and dishonest customer service. I only went through this procedure because it was SONY that told me to do it this way.
