McDonalds - 10th Street, Gilroy, CA Complaint - Hugo disappearance - Hugo drinks

Review by redhotgranny on 2007-06-19
GILROY, CALIFORNIA -- I have especially appreciated your Hugo drinks this summer, in the plastic extra large cup. It matches size wise the large drink at Jack in the Box. However today when I went to order it at the 10th St., Gilroy, MacDonalds they said they no longer offered it as an option. I just saw the add on national TV tonight? What gives?

This site often drops nationally televised specials after doing them for a very short time. I work in San Jose and know that they are still offering Hugo drinks. Will you check into this matter? Thanks. I would at least appreciate the option of having that size with the plastic cup with a bigger price.

A faithful consumer of MacDonalds

My God man, how much soda must you guzzle? Just put a cooler, some ice and a few liter bottles of soda in your car! And doesn't Gilroy have a garlic festival? Are you washing down garlic?

I hope that is diet soda that you are drinking. Every 12oz of soda was 150 calories in it.

After watching "Supersize" a few months ago... I realized just how bad those super size sodas are for you...

We don't have "Hugos" here on the east coast. Is McDonald's descriminating against east coasters?

Some fast food chains are pulling back from the oversize portions, especially of soft drinks, or what I like to call liquid candy. Some of those oversize drinks hold enough soda for three days worth of calories. I have an occasional Pepsi One, because when I was younger, I guzzled soda with the best of them. Now I have diabetes, and have to curtail many of the pleasures of eating and drinking I used to enjoy. I hope you don't end up like this. It is no fun.

Lid, I think Pirate is setting you up with a joke like the one "is your refrigerator running...yes...then you'd better go catch it"

Ever heard of 7/11? Please tell me more about these "MacDonalds" restaurants.

Something tells me redhotgranny may not be so hot if she frequents fast food places enough to compare the sizes of their drinks and watches enough TV to notice the commercials

In the movie "Supersize this"... they were comparing the soda sizes from other countries in Europe to the US... Apparently the super soda sizes in the US don't even exist in most European countries. A Euro large was equivalent to a medium-small here... Why do we need such large quantities of pop? I've never ordered a super-size soda... I can't drink it all... and the 500 empty calories probably are very helpful either.

Sorry! I have been drinking only diet soda so long I forgot that there is real soda with lots of calories!!
I was really hoping this site would get to MacDonald's but guess it's for people that just need blow off some steam. As for my size I'm not overweight even though so many of you seem to think so!! Drop me off this site. It's a waste of energy!

I wish McDonalds would offer bottled water as one of their options and some healthier choices. Here in PA I won't go to the McDonalds, because they seem a little to dirty....

I have gone through the drive up window to get my dog ice cream on a hot day though. When traveling it seems to help calm her down...
