Islamorada Fish Company Complaint - Bad Food / Poor Service

MESA, ARIZONA -- The new pro bass shop in mesa, arizona recently opened. We decided to experience the new venue by going to islamorada fish company for dinner on a saturday night. It was a 4 hour event from beginning to end. 2 Hours 15 minutes to get seated and another 1 hour 45 minutes to be served and pay the bill. We were a party of 5.
My son-in-law ordered chicken, which was cold and under cooked and could not be eaten so he shared my plate. The other dishes at the end of the meal looked untouched and every member of our party was unhappy with both the quality of the food and the poor service. We complained to the manager but he seem immune to the complaint, probably because he had so many. We even had other patrons comment to us inside the restaurant that this was not worth the wait and that was prior to us being seated. I knew we should have turned then and walked away.

For certain our party will never be back.

It's bad enough that you waited 2 hours to be seated then your "SOL" gets raw chicken for a meal....Coming from a guy that also had that experience that is no fun. Did you get any relief on the bill? Did anyone in your party have the fish?

Your son-in-law ordered chicken at a place called the Fish Company? Were you paying and he was afraid to order something over 10 bucks? Or is he just afraid of the concept of fresh fish in Arizona?

You were told not to go in, and did, then you received undercooked chicken (very dangerous) and shared a plate instead of getting a new chicken, and everyone else at your party decided to not touch their meals, without asking for new ones. Then you asked for the bill. Do I have this right?

No way. They slightly adjusted the bill and I left. Their loss is my future business and someone who signed onto My3Cents to let everyone else know not to go.

Unfortunately, consumers don't usually know the quality of a food product until they try it, especially a new restaurant. It's too bad your meal and service were so bad, but at least you learned this from experience, and I'm sure you will tell all your friends and family about this experience.

Let me see, a pro bass shop? Isn't that usually where they sell the rods, reels and other stuff bass fishermen buy? I never heard of a restaurant named after a bait shop. And what kind of name is Islamadora. Sounds like either something to do with Al Qaeda or a joke about an Italian who shuts a portal with too much force (I slam a doora.)

OOps forget to mention it in my last posting.

Islamadora is an island/place on the Florida keys!

They are naming the restaurant after a great place to eat and swim with the fish. I hope someone has had a good experience here now that the hoopla may have died down a little. I am dying to try this place. ANYONE?

I am very distressed by this post. As not only a customer but an employee of Islamorada (which is pronounced /eye-la-more-ah-duh/ for future refrence) I have found the food and overall atmosphere to be plesent and enjoyable. I myself am a server and have had nothing but good comments about the food from my first day. If any problem concerning food arises the first thing we are trained to do is alert a manager who more often than not will take anything not to the guests liking off of the bill. Whenever I am not working I take my family and freinds there to eat and everyone I have taken has enjoyed it enormously. We are still a new establishment and so there are still things we are working though at the moment but on an overall scale I believe that Islamorada Fish Company here in Mesa as well as in our many other locations across the US is a great place with wonderful food. It saddens me that one bad review is likely to reach so many people and I urge you to come and decide for yourself.

Also I would like to point out that we do get very busy on a saturday night like most other restuarants and that if you are not willing to wait for a table you might be better served comming sometime during the week instead.

To regards to Amber211 I am sorry but you must have a slanted view from working there. If you spent 4 hours to get a meal at Flemings Steakhouse I bet you wouldn't be happy. Your resturant still does not have their liqour license. They had no bottle water and the food was undercooked and cold. Make all the excuses you like for where you work but I will never be back. The consuming public has a right to know that this lack of service is there. Open your eyes and watch your customers the next time you serve and maybe you will see what is going on. But you are probably to busy correcting errors in service.

Was in there tonight for my aniversary dinner. So bad. No wait, guess word is out.
Where do I start: Host, there were 3 of them, never said a word just look at us till we told them we wanted to eat and then we had explained there were 3 of us and we needed a childrens menu. Long pause where we felt like we were in the land of the zombies. Yes they were teenage boys, but they could talk. Very odd. The kid with the menus just took of walking, didn't say follow me or this way just took off. We followed him and didn't like the table so went back and sat in bar. Bad service doesn't cover what happened. Indifferent service. It was like we were bugging the bartender to serve us. He had no other customers. The bar counter was greasy, you could see several tubs of dirty dishes on the floor under the bar, big greasy hand prints on tropical fish tanks. Lights in tank went out after about ten minutes and management came up and told us they can't turn them back on because it's the ciruit. Great, is it the coolers to the fish too.
No liquor, no license (didn't owners know they were opening a place to eat and drink? Mesa voted on this development)Bartender was talking to other bartender about team playing and just stuff that customer don't want to hear when they are dinning. The place was hot, like turn on a fan or run the A/C all night because it was uncomfortable. My Washbi Tuna steak was cold, dry and raw on the inside. I'm not sure how they did that. Vegetables were over cooked and swimming in oil. I felt embaressed for the people who worked there but then I realised they felt they were doing the customer a favor by serving them anyway. It was just weird and more proof about the rip off of corperate welfare in this counrty. We the tax payers helped subsidise this wonderful establishment. We are still paying for the development. The good news is I'm not throwing up yet.

It has obviously been over a year since anyone has written in response to this post but I just felt it would be nice to share my experience. I too heard quite a few bad things about this esablishment when it first opened but just a couple of months ago a friend of mine told me she and her husband had gone there on a whim and really enjoyed it. I decided to give it a try and found it enjoyable. The waitress told us that they had changed their menu and we had no problems getting drinks. A manager stopped by our table to see how things were and was extremely polite. The food was good and the people were nice. Overall we had a nice meal. Just thought I would share although your experience does sound horrible.
