Lamar Inn Complaint - Cleanliness and owner sponse
LAMAR, COLORADO -- My brother, a friend and myself arrived in Lamar late one night looking for a place to sleep and a shower the next morning. We checked at the major hotels first but they were full. We spotted the Lamar Inn. The sign said best prices in town and they had vacancies, both good things, right? Eighty dollars later, we went to our room to find less than normal standard conditions but we were tired so just decided to go to sleep. Well, the next morning we found how substandard the conditons really were. The toilet leaked which caused the tile on the floor to warp, water to seep out onto the carpet area, mold to grow around the tub and up the wall and terrible stains in the bathtub. There was hair on the counter top, food in the drain, and dirty surfaces in the dress area. The exposed box mattresses had dark stains running down the side and there were bugs running around the night stand. The final straw came when we went to make coffee and there was no coffee on the tray with the condiments and coffee pot. When we confronted the owner, we received no words of consolation or appoligies. He didn't seem surprised at all. I guess this is a warning to the next guests to visit the Lamar Inn in search of clean, comfortable accomodations.
