IGIGI- plus size clothing Complaint - How many emails does it take to reslove a return???

Review by Limbo_lulu on 2007-06-20
I purchased a brides' maid level dress from IGIGI.com for my only brother's wedding ($190.00) also paid extra to have it shipped express so that I would have it in time.

Dress arrived....Size was wrong! Ok- way too much going on to panic about my dress, no problem. So I found a dress in a shop locally- not as pretty or as special, but whatever.

I then tried to return the dress to IGIGI, using their return form and Priorty/ Insured mail. I sent the package out on May 17th.

Waited....waited...no refund. So a week later, I email them asking when I can expect my refund. They claim that they have not gotten my package yet and it will take uo to 2 weeks to process a return anyway. Fine....I wait another week and inquire again to see if my package had at least gotten there. NO, they say they still don't have any record of my pacakge. ok...another week goes by...still nothing- I am begininng to get frustrated.

Now, I notice that on June 1st, my Visa was credited 14.95 from IGIGI...strange! I bring this up to the "customer service" person named Alison that I have been emailing...she says that she "has no clue" why I would be credited 14.95 and still insists that they have not received my return.

So finally last night, I go to the Post Office and ask to file a claim for my missing insured package. The man at the counter says, "wait one moment, I'll check something for you."

He comes back with a tracking report that shows exactly when my package was delivered to IGIGI....ON MAY 21ST!!! Now I am getting angry.

I email them again this morning, stating what I have discovered, and that I will fax them a copy of the tracking report from the P.O. if they need further proof.

They email back asking if I filed a claim (what?) and stating (again) that they can't seem to find record of my return! Unreal! I have been pretty reasonable up to this point...but I am thinking of going to the BBB if this can't be resolved quickly.

Whether it is resovled quickly or at a snail's pace, NEVER will I purchase with them again!! I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FRIENDS- And to anyone that is thinking of buying from them- BEWARE!!!!

The USPS has a very interesting little sticker thqat you should check into. It is called a Delivery Confirmation sticker. It costs sixty cents, and does help to prevent businesses from trying to say they never got merchandise sent back by customers. Why more people don't use this simple little sticker when returning merchandise is beyond me.

Good point, starlord, and I will add that it's very difficult to order clothing over the internet, as many of us have discovered that sizes differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Yeah, I used Insured mail which DOES have a tracking number. The clerk at the time told me that to have 2 tracking numbers on the package was redundant.

I ordered a dress for my sister-in-law from igigi last week. Emailed them twice already asking when the item would ship b/c I never recieved a shipping confirmation email.
Haven't gotten a reply back yet and I'm getting pissed.
If I don't recieve the dress by Tuesday (1 week from when I ordered the dress), I'm cancelling the order.
