Pancakepuff.com Complaint - False advertising
CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA -- I caught an interesting commercial on TV the other night. The product is called a Pancake Puff pan, and is cast iron with 7 wells, used to make a variety of snack foods. The commercial had a URL, www.pancakepuff.com. I went to the website, and found the complete offer, or more accurately, a number of offers.
The main price quoted for the pan, a recipe booklet and 6 'flipping sticks' is $19.99 plus $9.99 S&H. They also offer an upgrade kit for $14.99 plus $3.99 S&H. In several places in the ad, they state the upgrade offer includes the pan and the recipe booklet as well as the other items, for the $14.99 + price. The wife called the 800 number, and the operator said that package was available, but cost $38.00+. When it was pointed out that the website constituted false advertising, she snapped, "They put the wrong price, so what?" I believe a person should be able to purchase the complete kit for the advertised price of $14.99 plus $3.99 S&H, until such time as they change the website. On the page where you order online, it has the lowball price not just once, but twice, listing the pan and recipe book in the package for $14.99+.
