World Com Complaint - misleading internet scam
Complaint

COLDWATER, MICHIGAN -- As an honest consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.
I received an e-mail solicitation to obtain information on cell phone service and reasonable prices in my area.
E-mail solicitation for information on a cell phone service is received. When you click on the link, you are required to fill out a form to get the information. After reading the information, I decided not to secure the service offered and did NOT complete/confirm the order. Four emails were sent to me to confirm an order I did NOT place and I did NOT confirm the e-mail request either. The telephone was sent anyway by FED X and I refused delivery. Fed X required me to sign a refusal of delivery and I complied. The first problem occured when I got a billing for using a phone I never recieved in a state I have never visited. After several telephone calls it was referred to their fraud department and I received a regular mail showing account closed for a non-exisiting account closure. Now I am being harrassed for a stocking fee. This also happened to my neighbor and I feel a scam is going on by WorldCom.com. I have emailed them and continue to be threatened with collection agency and credit reporting to ruin my credit. I have informed them my next step is the Attorney General Office. Thank you
As a resolution, I would like the following:
Please notify these people that misleading advertising and harrassment will not be tolerated in Michigan and to cease and desist from harrassing me. I have attempted to make that point and they will not comply. This was an unsolicited offer by me and their gift is not appreciated.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like more details regarding this incident.
