Mark GMC Informative - Most Horrendous Customer Service

Review by GMC owner no more on 2007-06-25
YONKERS, NEW YORK -- I have had my 2004 GMC Envoy XL(still under warranty) at this dealship for the past 6 days. It was brought in with initial reports of transmission failure. The vehicle has less than 25,000 miles on it. After 3 days of sitting at the shop, I was informed that nothing wrong could be found with the car. Ater much convincing for the service department to keep the car, I found out on day 6 that the vehicle has a major transmission problem and it would approximately 4 additional days to repair! When asked to give a definitive answer on how long it would take for my car to be ready, I discovered that the transmission had not even been dismantled yet! I even complained to GMC in Detroit to little avail. I will never purchase a GM vehicle again. This is our seond incident with GMC Envoys, the first vehicle being "taken care of" by GMC so as not to face a lemon law dispute. The product we purchased is awful and the service is horrendous.

Depending on the problem, many times mechanics have difficulty reproducing the issues drivers complain of. This sounds like it could be one, since they couldn't find a problem within the first few days. Once they isolate the issue, they may have been waiting to contact you before proceeding with the teardown. They are acting responsibly and repairing the problem, so, other than time issues (for which they may not be at fault) I don't understand the complaint. Also, yeah, as far as the vehicle quality itself, good luck with an Envoy.
