Best Buy Informative - Best Buy Service Plan/Sham
ISELIN, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased an LG AirConditioner and 4 year service plan from Best Buy. The air conditioner stopped working and was supposedly covered by Best Buys In Home Service Plan. I contacted the service department a technitian was dispatched (as I missed a day of work) and a part was on order on June 8, 2007. I was then notified by Best Buy via automated message on June 20th that the part was delivered and that I should call 1-888-BestBuy to schedule an apointment for the technitian to intsall the part. On June 21st I contacted the service department and the service agent had stated "that the part was delivered directly to the technitian," I then scheduled the next available appointment for June 26, 2007. I was informed by the service agent that the service tech would call between 7-9am on June 26 to schedule a time frame between 2-3 hours to await the techs arrival. I took another day off from work on June 26th and no one called or was dispatched to install the part. I called the in home appliance service dept. and the lies began. First, Best Buy service dept. claimed that the service had been completed and fullfilled. A Lie. After being pressed. Best Buy then claimed that no part was ordered. After some grumbling on my part. Best Buy then claimed that my appointment was cancelled and that they "think" the tech has the part. When asked they claimed they could not contact the tech to inquire about the part and didn't know where the tech was being dispatched from. All the while I had been receiving auto mated messages from Best Buy claiming that my part was ordered and for me to call for an apointment was needed???? Well after 30 minutes of back and forth an apointment was rescheduled for the tech to install my part on Wed. June 27. Fifteen minutes after the June 27th appint was scheduled I recievd a call from the Best Buy Service Dept. stating they needed to re-schedule my appointment again for July 3rd the tech was cancelling all other prior apoints. After, relating to this service agent my frustrations she contacted the tech by phone and informed me he would look into whether my part was ordered or not? Still, Best Buy and their tech are unssure whether they have the part and schedule an apoint for July 3. to this day nothing has been installed. Their so called service plans are a sham to get your money with the intentions of not providing their customers with the promised services a fraud.
