IKEA Compliment - Horrible Customer Service
WEST SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- Seriously everyone who purchases IKEA furniture in the flat pack, CHECK YOUR PACKAGES BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PREMISES. Every time I purchase something from them there is hardware missing. After being put through to VOICEMAIL twice I finally was able to call bcak and talk to a real person. After another 20 MINUTES on hold I was able to speak with a customer service manager who told me that the 4 little plastic pieces I need to put together 2 different desks will require 5-7 business days to have their CASE analyzed. WHAT? They have to put a case together and have someone review it. WHY? I told them the exact description of the parts, the page of the instruction manual that it was on, and that I needed them sent to me because it's about an hour trip for me to go back. It's now 30 minutes into the phone call and I'm still on hold because the customer service rep, who hardly speaks English, needs to put together the case and of course I need to be on hold while she does this. I run a manufacturing company and I know that if one of our customers calls and says that we forgot to ship part of their order, it gets sent UPS over night to them. Why should my customer suffer for an error one of my employees made. I hope that my company never gets too big that we don't give a s#@* about our customers. I'm not going to say something ridiculous like "boycott IKEA." I just want to warn everyone that if you don't want to waste an hour on the phone and another trip back for missing parts you better check your packages before you leave.
