Highway Moving Inc Complaint - Highway Moving Inc IS A RIP OFF

Review by dontdowhatidid on 2007-06-27
I wish I had read "gotscrewed"'s message before these people showed up at my house. This seems to be the MO. 1. Give the estimate. 2. Show up late so the people can not accompany the truck to the weigh station. 3. Lie about the wieght and cost (mine cost me 2.5 times as much as the original estimate) 4. Hold the furniture hostage until you pay because who are you going to call- you don't know where the furniture is and neither do the police 5. Do not reliquish the weight thicket if it even exists 6. Threaten you with false charges so you can not go to the police or court once they've taken all your money and dropped of the broken and damaged goods. I wish I could write more so EVERY ONE WILL KNOW TO STAY AWAY, but the people at the company have threatened me in very scary subversive ways... It was the worst moving experience ever!!

If a bad move ever happens to you- if it is within the state call the Utiliites Exchange Commission to report them and if it is from one state to another contact the US Department of Transportation. This company is in Charlotte, NC- the NC Department of Justice website has all this info on it.

I have never had to make a state to state move but if I did I am 100% terrified and turned off from hiring ANY moving company. I would rather rent multiple trucks and lug it myself.
