2 Bad Whirlpool Golds
Slide in Range (Gold) and Microven - Complaint
LOUISIANA -- Just over a year ago we built my mother inlaw a place to live behind our house. We purchased all new appliances. We wanted to upgrade our kitchen and bought the stainless Whirlpool Gold. We gave her the other appliances; which were eight years old. We never have had a problem with them. As for our Whirlpool Gold; less than 14 months after the puchase, we are having problems with two of their products. The slide in Range (Ser.# GY396LXP), having to replace the clock in the panel. The panel has froze up. About 12 months before this, it over heated; thought that it would never cool down. We were just baking cookies; burnt them in less than 2 minutes. Read some where it did the same thing to someone else and started a fire. Their microven with vent ahood, is now making sounds like sparks and smelling like something is burning. This is coming from the front panel as well. Thought that we were getting an up grade by buying whirlpool gold. I beleive that we were wrong. Whirlpool does not have much to brag on if their customer can't get at least 7 - 10 years out of their appliances.
