AAA Complaint - Emergancy roadside service
COLUMBIA, MARYLAND -- On Tueday, June 25, 2002 at about 6:30 PM, I stopped at a supermarket on Route 40 in Ellicott City. As soon as I stepped out of my car and locked the door I realized my car keys were on the front seat.I had inadvertently left my wallet home but I did have some money with me. I had to call my daughter to call AAA to get service. After about 45 minutes a truck came from Kramer Towing Co. and the driver worked on my car for 1/2 hour or so. Finally he said he would have to send someone else. I went in the store to wait by the pay ohone and in about 20 minutes he cxalled with this message. They could not find any locksmith who would come out (8:00PM). I could get my own service and be re-imbursed.This is the roadside service I received from a company whose motto is " Someone you can count on". I have been a member of AAA since 1988 and have seen my dues go up every year. I thought I was paying for roadside emergency insurance. Obviously I was wrong. I will be looking for some other company who what I want.
