Comcast Corporation Complaint - Stole my money and refused refund!
ILLINOIS -- I'll make this very simple. Ive been with comcast over 2 years and we moved in may 2007. I decided to transfer my service instead of cancelling and then getting new service.
We had endless issues with making the transfer and when we finally called a guy in our area he came out and 'fixed' everything.
My bill is should be 100 dollars every month. Since moving I watched my bill closely and I noticed in June that my bill was 262 dollars. Now this didnt make any sense to me seeing how there was an odd amount after 200 dollars.
After calling several times it was explained that they did not bill me correctly because I had moved and I know owed 200 dollars and that the 60 dollars was due to late fees and some of my service that was carried over from my previous location.
I was able to get my late fees taken care of before being forwarded to my first helpful customer service rep. She was very kind and stayed on the phone with me for a little over an hour. In the end my account was said to be fixed to 211 and she told me that was how much I would be billed.
Because of moving I am on a very tight budget and that extra 111 was a kick in the teeth. I did not get upset with anyone and understood if that was what I owed the company then that was what I should pay.
A week later I grew nervous because the hard copy online still said 262 owed. I was told that was an incorrect statement and even their online phone system told me my bill was 211.
A few days later my bill comes out on autopay and they have charged me 261 (not even the 262!) and I immediatly called customer service. The payment had not come up in their system and confused the guy told me I would only be charged the 211 and after correcting him he told me to call back later and they would refund the money after talking to my bank.
I called back the next day and this guy told me it would take 4-5 weeks for me to get a refund and I just flipped out. Because they had taken too much money I found myself short for my rent and no way around it. I pleaded with the guy and broke down into tears, this wasn't my fault and I had done everything I could to be charged the correct amount.
The refused any compensation and told me that if I wanted the refund I would have to wait. He then mentioned I could drive out of the way to a service center and see if MAYBE I could get a refund there. I have no gas and I have no money to get gas so how the hell do you expect me to do that.
Bottomline there wouldnt had been a problem if their system wouldnt have screwed up the first time, and even the second!
My husband tried calling and they still kept to their guns..
HORRIBLE customer service, and we are now looking for new service.
