Tidewater Inn, West Yarmouth, MA Complaint - Room Reservation- ignored through AAA.com
WEST YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS -- I recently stayed at the Tidewater Inn in West Yarmouth, MA (Cape Cod) for the first and LAST time.
I placed the reservation for a room with a king-size bed online through AAA.com, 5 weeks in advance of my 3 day/2 night trip. Upon arrival I was given keys to a dark room, with 2 double beds a view of the parking lot. I returned to the front desk to discuss this mix up with the manager. Even though I had my printed confirmation in hand from AAA and Tidewater she insisted that she never received my reservation for a king size room. That would be the one with the larger bed and multiple windows. She kept telling me that they sold out of the rooms I wanted this week, and that I should have called to confirm. As if it is exclusively my fault.
She offered to switch me to a larger room for the last half of our trip. This would be a room with a view of the water, a.k.a. marshy pond. I declined and haggled for a discount.
Considering there are hotels on every block in Cape Cod I would not give this a second look. I realize that we all make mistakes but I was furious that she tried to put the blame on me because she messed up my room.
