Dish Network Complaint - Dish Lies to Get Customers
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA -- In April 2007, I contacted Dish about their service. I made a point of talking to a real person at Dish rather than ordering online as I wanted assurances about billing costs. I was promised my bill would be only $29.95 per month plus taxes less a $10 rebate, including 4 TV's hooked up, and local channels. I got the sales persons name and operator ID. Looking at my current bill, I am not getting the $10 monthly rebate (which I had to request from DISH 3 separate times) although the rebate was returned to DISH on May 25. I also am being charged an additional $5 month for a second receiver. Talking with DISH's customer service, it seems it doesn't matter who I talked with when ordering the service nor what I was promised would be the maximum billing amount. I was told by two DISH employees (including a supervisor) that since they were not a party to the original conversation, I will continue to be billed the additional fees.
In addition, the person who came out to install the equipment assured me that he did indeed hook up the telephone line to the main receiver but apparently he also lied. I am being charged an additional $5.99 for this.
I received no satisfaction from Customer Service and will definitely cancel the service as soon as I can.
Beware, they will promise anything to get you signed up and then will not take responsibility for promises made by another operator.
