Bearshare Complaint - They Will Let You In. You Can't Get Out! - Music Downloads

Music Downloads - Complaint
Review by Scion444 on 2007-07-03
This service is the internet's version of "Hotel California." You are put on a billing cycle (in my case $7.95). Once you check in, forget about checking out. Oh, they will explain in detail "how to cancel" but then you are led on a goose chase of non-existent links. Finally you wind up at a phone number you are supposed to call. Since I could not find any conceivable way to cancel by hitting a cancel button like any reputable on-line business. I had no choice but to call the telephone number. Guess what? I was on hold for awhile...then I was told I was "next in line" for a few minutes...then I was told that due to "heavy call volume" I should try back later. Then I was disconnected.
"Next in line" to "Heavy call volume." This company designed its website to TAKE YOU MONEY and it will continue to TAKE YOU MONEY long after you want out! My advice: avoid this dishonest company like the plague. If you already have made the mistake I did, call your credit card company investigation department and have them bill the cost right back to Bearshare.

I have had no problems with on-line purchases until I ran into Bearshare. These guys are the worst.

MRM - The movie is downloadable already??? I may have to boot up my virtual machine that hosts BearShare and take a peek... Just at the preview of course... =)

Scion444 - I think you can get Bearshare for free? I don't remember paying for it. Perhaps they have changed their policies.

You may want to look into "shareaza". It is release under GNU General Public License. No spyware, adware, payware. It supports 4 networks (EDonkey2000, Gnutella, BitTorrent and Gnutella2 (G2)).

FYI.. Bearshare only access Gnutella and Gnutella2 networks.
