Hertz Complaint - Car Rental Contract Issues
LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA -- On the 8th of Jan 2007, I rented a car from Hertz in Lafayette, La. The contract was signed for a term of one week and was placed on Mastercard. In addition, I was informed by the agent that a an additional $100 deposit was required in case the vehicle did not have a full tank gas upon return. On 16Jan07 @ 0600 am, the car was returned back with 3/4 tank of gas. I left and upon return back to Japan I contacted Chris and requested the remainder of my deposit. I explained to him how I had gotten lost getting to the airport and used a small amount of gas. Chris stated that this was ok and he would refund the entire $100 deposit. I waited a few weeks and contacted Hertz again. This is when I was informed that Chris no longer worked there and a new manager named Connie was present. I left and message and she contact me. I explained to her the entire situation. She stated she would look into it. I waited for 3 months before she contacted me. I was informed that my credit card would refund the deposit. I contacted my credit card company and they informed me that the merchant has to refund you the money. To date I have not received the remainder of my deposit.
