Vonage Complaint - No Contract? - VoIP
MAINE -- Vonage advertises that they do NOT have a contract. However, if you disconnect service within 1, possibly 2 years, you owe them a disconnect fee of over $40. This sounds like a contract to me.
Also, I've attempted to disconnect service on several occasions. You can NOT disconnect using the web site, and hold times often exceed 1 hour when calling customer service. When I FINALLY got through to a rep, they were VERY insistent on keeping me as a customer, even after informing them that I had set up service with another provider. They even offered me a 20% reduction on my monthly fee.
In the end, my service is finally disconnected.
I owe them approx $31 for the month of June, despite telling them I made NO CALLS and received NO CALLS (box wasn't even plugged in), and had been trying to disconnect all month.
Also owe them the disconnect fee.
They did, however, let me keep this now useless box. How sweet of them.
