Planet Ford Complaint - Forgery At The Dealership

Review by tiggerpool on 2007-07-05
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I and my fiance went to planet ford in Belton SC on 3/3/07 and we purchased a 2005 Pontiac grand am. We financed it with long beach acceptance corp. After the payment was close to being due we had not received our payment booklet. We contacted long beach and they told us that we were not in their system and to give it a few more days to see if it showed up. After another week we contacted the dealership to get our license plate and we were informed that our car was financed with a different bank. We contacted the bank and found out that on the 13th of march the dealership had sent them contracts with me and sovereign bank. We informed the bank that we did not sign any contracts with their bank and they told me that they had copies with my signature on it. I called the dealership and was told by the finance mgr that a man named Jason had forged my contracts. I spoke to the gen. Mgr. And he admitted that the contracts were forged and that he would call the police and make sure that the people responsible would be arrested. For several weeks Scott (gen mgr) told me that the investigation was going on and that the detectives would be in touch with me very soon. I called the sheriff's dept and nobody new anything about this matter. I went to the police and filed my complaint and as soon as I did the dealership forged an affidavit with my name on it and sent it to the bank saying that they had bought the car back from me!!!! The bank then sent them the title to my car! I can not believe that a dealership is above the law!!!! We have been harassed and intimidated. All I want is that the people responsible for this be prosecuted. I spoke to the owner of the dealership and his words were that he had more money and better lawyers than me so he could not be touched and the other owner derrick would not even speak to me! If anybody else out there is having a problem with planet ford they need to contact detective Sloan at Anderson County Sheriffs dept. 864-260-4400.

All I wanted was to be treated fairly and if there was ever a problem all they had to do was call me. Not go and forge everything! I wanted to buy a car not get taken advantage of and lied to. What they did is a felony!!!

If you haven't already, I would seek legal assistance as soon as possible. If what you are telling is accurate, this place needs to be stopped. It shouldn't take much to prove the forgery took place.

Good luck. You have been taken, and do need to have a good lawyer on this, and it sounds like you have a good law enforcement agency on board.

Thanks for the heads up - I had been looking at an Excursion they were advertising, but I think I will take my search elsewhere.

Besides hiring an attorney, you need to contact your state's Dealer Licensing Board and file a complaint. These divisions of your state government take these types of issues very seriously.

It shouldn't be hard to show that the handwriting isn't consistent.
