LA Fitness (Hollywood, CA) Complaint - LA Fitness - Double Billing & Deception
HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- I joined LA Fitness (Hollywood Blvd location) on 5/6/07. I was told that the pool (which had been under construction) would be ready by 5/8/07. It is now 7/8/07 and the pool has not yet been finished.
The sales rep said that I was free to bring a guest anytime, at no cost. This was something which he mentioned more than once during the sales pitch. The one time that I decided to bring a guest, however, the person at the front desk attempted to charge a $20 fee. After speaking to a floor manger and arguing (politely) for fifteen minutes, they reluctantly agreed to waive the fee "just this once."!
And now, upon viewing my recent bank statements, I noticed that LA Fitness charged the $29.00 fee twice for each month! This is in addition to the $171.00 I paid up front for "first and last month membership fees."
I am going to cancel my membership immediately, as I see that I am dealing with a company which is both dishonest and unprofessional. Unfortunately, after reading what others have been through, I know that it will be an uphill battle!
