People's United Bank Compliment - ATM Malfunction
BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT -- On the morning of 6/19 I had gone to the local bank branch to withdraw cash from my account. In the middle of the transation, the ATM operating system crashed and restarted prior to dispensing cash or receipt. Upon arriving home later that morning I checked my online account and discovered that the funds had been deducted from my available balance.
The next morning after checking my online account again and seeing that the transaction had posted to my account, I contacted the New Haven Call Center to report the error and file a claim. The CSR that took the report was not only pleasant to speak to but was helpful in explaining what I needed to do and what the process would be.
I was expecting and prepared to do battle with the bank. There was no need. By the end of the week, my account was given a provisional credit for the amount and a week later the credit was finalized.
High marks for Peoples United Bank and their well trained CSRs. Now if they can only make their automated Call Center answering system a little more clear (I had to guess which option would get me to a CSR).
