Cingular Wireless Complaint - Wireless Internet
I went to Mexico in April and I had used the internet service on my Cingular 8125. I got back from mexico and was charged 400 bucks. I have an unlimited internet plan so I was confused by this. I called customer service and I was told that my media package does not include international internet coverage and that I try using wi-fi. Fine. I went to Mexico again the first week of June. I used wi-fi and got on the internet. I got back and had a 400 dollar charge again. I talked to a customer service rep who told me that i used my phone for the internet so I have to pay for that. I asked to talk to a supervisor. This time I explained how I was advised to try using wi-fi. The response I recieved was "I can understand how you may have misunderstood that. The representative was most likely referring to the use of a laptop. Anytime your phone is used to access the internet using our towers or using a wireless router you are charged for that."
So let this be a warning, do not listen to the advice of a customer service rep. And don't use your cell phone in mexico.
