American Airlines Complaint - Left stranded by AA in an international city
I was flying from Atlanta to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 6/2007 and due to fog at the BA international airport, was diverted to another city 600 miles from Buenos Aires. No problem I thought, bad weather - we'll just have to be patient.
Turns out American's solution to the problem 8 hours later was to put 400 passengers on BUSES for a 11 hour ride to get to BA. When I told the rep that I purchased a PLANE ticket to BA & that I would wait for the next available flight, I was told there would be no other solution. They were refusing to fly us to BA.
I found various flights w/ other airlines, even a chartered plane that was available that same day & the next. AA refused to put us on them. I even talked to the pilot who told me he was flying our plane to BA the next morning but that the plane was only flying w/ the crew & no passengers.
End of story, I paid for my own way back to BA.
The first thing I did when I got to BA was to place my complaint w/ AA. It's been exactly a month & there has been no response other than an automated email telling me it would be 1 week before they get back to me. BTW, you can't speak to Customer Relations by phone, apparently it's not in their budget.
Congratulations American, you have lost yet another customer... btw, I won't be booking my customers with you either
