RCA/Thomson Inc. Complaint - Poor Customer Service / Defective Merchandise
FARMINGTON, NM -- In June of 2006, I purchased an RCA Home Theatre. The unit worked fine for 1 month, then for no reason, completely shut down. I sent the unit (at my expense) to Thomson product echange. Three weeks later, I received a replacement. This time the unit worked for almost 15 minutes before completely shutting down. After researching products from RCA and the reliability of Thomson Inc product exchange, I learned a valuable lesson, "Let the buyer beware." I strongly suggest looking at other manufacturers before purchasing any electronic devices from RCA. Their reputation for quality products and service appears to have certainly deteriorated.
My research showed that RCA has had numerous problems with their electronic circuitry, extreme difficulty in locating reliable customer service, and notorious for sending defective merchandise back as part of a merchandise exchange procedure. My situation is certainly not isolated. Read internet complaints and product reviews about RCA and Thomson Inc. before you purchase anything.
In this time of electronic genious, there is no excuse for the problems many of us have incurred with these products
