DirecTV Inc Complaint - Qwest/Direct TV Bundle Service - Bad Deal
RENTON, WASHINGTON -- Last week I ordered the Bundle Service through Qwest. I was to receive Direct TV, Internet access, and phone service all for one low price.
Now, while ordering the service- I was not informed properly about the services that were available or that there was a one year contract that I had to sign with Direct TV. I was told that I would receive 150 channels which wasnt the true amount.
When the installer came out, he mentioned that if I wanted the HDTV I needed to pay an additional 99.00 a month and I needed a new dish. I was told that I could have the HDTV with a additional box for 5.00. This was another example of bad information.
Then without going through the paper work first he installer hooked up everything- Dish, Receivers - ran the wires throughout our house and then after he completed the work he mentioned that there was a one year contract that was required. My husband, who was at the house did not know about this or did I at the time we felt that we were forced to take the installation due to the fact it was completed.
If told up front, I would not have ordered the service with the one year contract. And then the installer told me that I would need to spend a great more money for the service that I wanted.
The communication with Qwest and Direct TV is horrible. I feel as a consumer, I should not have to pay the early disconnection fee of $200.00 I have spent more than three hours on the phone with Qwest and direct TV. I spoke with several customer service reps who told me many different things. There stories were all different to the policies of DIRECT TV.
I've sent them a certified letter requesting them to cancel my service within three business days but now I am told it is three activation days. I spent many hours on the phone just telling them that I wanted to cancel my service and I did not want to continue the service due to the one year contract. I am not sure if they still get it. This is horrible service.
