1 & 1 Internet Complaint - Service quality / Billing practice
I had 1&1 for a while and their service was okay except that the account names were numeric and very difficult to deal with, so I went with a company that used "normal" account names....
I canceled my service with them, or so I thought. I transferred all of my domains and hosting, etc., away from them to another company, leaving them nothing to do. However, they billed me for an additional month after they had no services to provide. I found an entry on my credit record for $30. I talked to them, explained the situation and they remain steadfast in their position that I owe them $30, which they had sent to collection.
I am astounded that they insist I pay them for a month of non-service; that they don't stop billing when all of the services they were support have been removed; and that they didn't just write off $30 given the circumstances.
I highly recommend that nobody use 1&1 Internet because of their awkward system (your email account names are like 17328932832 instead of email address), their poor billing policies, and lousy customer service
