Royal Caribbean Informative - Lost Luggage
First of all, let me state that I am not surprised that I cannot contact the company directly. My husband and I went on an awards trip to Alaska on the "Serenade of the Seas" in June. Following all directives from the "people in the know" at the airport, we went directly to our ship upon arrival in Vancouver. Expecting our luggage to be delivered to our staterooms, we went about exploring the ship. When we returned to the room after setting sail, my husband's luggage was in place and mine was not. I began at that moment to locate my luggage. I filed a complaint that first afternoon. I was told that they couldn't contact the airport until the next day. I won't bore you with all of the details but suffice it to say I got a complete runaround from the cruise ship who blamed it on the airlines. On the last day of our week long cruise, I was told that my luggage had gotten put on another cruiseline going to a destination I never visited. I filed a complaint with United Airlines and they did nothing short of bending over backwards to return my luggage to me. Of course Royal Caribbean never took responsibility for my lose or compensated in any way! I received my bag 2 1/2 weeks after I left it in the hands of our local airport employees.
I will never cruise Royal Caribbean again and I tell everyone I know my unhappiness with them.
