Computer Associates Complaint - Doesn't work-both the product and the company
I used Computer Associates internet security software for several years and it worked fine. Until I "upgraded" to the 2007 edition. It blocked my email client. Computer Associates (CA) doesn't offer telephone support, even for installation issues. The help is through a web chat. After SIX webchats, it was obvious that the problem was not going to be solved and since there was no other method of support, I went and purchased a competing product and it worked perfectly out of the box.
To add insult to injury, the product was purchased with a $20 rebate that said "Allow 3-4 weeks from postmark..." Since I have had trouble with rebates in the past, I sent it USPS Priority and they confirmed that they received it on March 23, 2007. It is now July 16, 2007 and still no rebate. I have emailed them eight times starting at the end of April and have been assured by return email that the rebate is being processed. RIGHT!
