American Home Shield Informative - Profound negligence in service/appliance &customer
MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OHIO 45459, IOWA -- March 20,2007 leak in front of refrigerator discovered. American Home Shield sent out 3 different "repairmen" over the next 2 weeks; #1 was a plumber, #2+#3 both refrigerator repairmen, not one of them pulled out the appliance which would have led to proper diagnosis of leak. April 4th, out of desperation, I had an appliance repairman, listed locally, try to resolve problem. He immediately pulled out refrigerator/spotted a leak in the plumbing outside refrigerator hose, tells me I need a plumber to replace/repair leak. All plumbing up to my refrigerator is clearly covered per insurance manual, which of course they dispute. The big gripe I have is the length of time spent on the whole mess (rubber raft..oars..hip waders.. R2D2 sized water vacs, shampooer and many fans) trying to keep the flood away from two rooms of pristine burbur that attach to my kitchen. Their original plumber returned on April 6th, 16 days after leak was started/discovered. There are a lot of details omitted here...lack of time/space; I sent a detailed letter to their legal dept. who then requested copies of all receipts, promptly sent. They brushed me off with a "SO Sorry About Your Luck" letter. I come in contact with lots of potential American Home Shield Customers and have sent them a few in years past but now have dropped my coverage and will be bad press for them in the future. I would love to present this to an understanding jury who might show mercy on a very hard working woman who thinks she has a VERY GOOD CASE..not just a missing pair of pants! Sending copy of this letter to Ohio Attorney General just in case they are doing their job!
