Toyota Financial Services Complaint - Beware of Toyota Financial Services (TFS)

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Hopefully you are not financing your car through TFS. If you are, then do not count on receiving your car title promptly after paying-off your account. I paid off my account
two weeks ago tomorrow, and I will be lucky if I get the title in the next 5 days. I was never notified, at the time of applying for TFS's car loan, about the 10 BUSINESS DAYS WAITING PERIOD for title release. They keep you waiting even though they GOT your money.
KEEP AWAY FROM TFS, IF TIME MATTERS TO YOU!

Did you use a personal check to pay off the loan? If you did, then they are waiting for the check to clear. Ten business days is normal in that situation.

My title was held by my bank for a full month before it finally made it to me after I paid off my loan. I wasn't in too much of a rush to get the title, so it really didn't matter. Why the rush?

It seems like it took about 30 days on mine. Usually these are stored in the banks archives and it takes time to process them and send them out.

No business can havea turn around time of a couple days. Especially if you are not dealing with a local bank/office.
They have to wait to make sure the check clears, and yes Cashier's checks can have stop payments on them, then process the paperwork and send the title out to you. In some states the title has to be sent through the state first.

they will probably repossess your car in about a week or two.
