Gibbs' NY Style Subs Compliment - Yummy Subs! - Great Food

Review by ZooVet726 on 2007-07-20
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- There is a sub shop down the street from me that is worth mentioning. I have never been one for Subway (YUCK!) or Firehouse (Sloppy!), but I love Gibb's NY Style Subs. They used to be Larry's Giant Subs, but the people that owned that particular franchised store decided to change the name. I think they improved with the name change.

Before, I used to order the Italian Sub, cold, because I love the salami and pepperoni on it. But now, since Gibbs' changed the menu, I have been "forced" to try something new, since I don't like the spicy cappicola on their "Godfather" Italian Sub. I now get the "MGB". This is a make-it-your-own, which allows you to choose your own meats. You also get to control the toppings like lettuce and tomato.

I always get roast beef, genoa salami, pepperoni, and turkey. They put on provolone cheese as well, which I like. During the name change, they decided to upgrade their meat provider to Boar's Head, which, as anyone who has tried their meats knows, Boar's Head is the #1 taste in meats. They are a little more expensive, but it's worth it.

So, if you ever pass by the Gibbs' in my town, stop in for a sub. You always get a smile from the workers as well!
