DirecTV Inc Complaint - 2 year contract whether you are aware or not.
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I was a long time customer of DirecTV. I recently upgraded to the DVR service. I was told there was no charge for the new receiver, but was NOT informed that the contract would be extended to 2 additional years. When I decided to move, DirecTV then informed me that I owed over $200 to cancel the service. I am sure that this is hidden in the fine print, but most reasonable customers rely on the customer representatives to inform them of these terms. Additionally the cancellation technician was quite rude when I informed him of this.
Either way, I will never do business with them again.
