Northwest Airlines Complaint - Lost luggage nightmare
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- For a single flight at the end of June, 2007, I experienced cancelled flights, delayed flights, and eleven days of lost luggage. Luggage services was unfathomably inept, disorganized, and rude. Every time I spoke with them they had a different answer for where my luggage was. Sometimes it was in Minneapolis, other times NY City. Several times they said it would drop any minute from a nearby claim where I would wait for an hour or more only to stand in line yet again at the claim office. I returned to the airport multiple times to pick it up when they said it would be there, only to waste my time. I tried the phone lines only to be disconnected due to 'unusually large volume of calls', I tried to use their online services only to a server error message. Finally I received a phone message with a rude message telling me my luggage had been sitting at the Mpls airport and why hadn't I come to pick it up on June 30 like I said I would? I WAS there TWICE on June 30, each time for 2 hours but my luggage was not there. I could go on but I think my point is made.
A sorry epilogue to this is that two weeks after I finally got my luggage I received a phone call from NWA luggage dept. saying they were holding the luggage for some poor soul whom I do not know. Clearly they had mixed up the phone numbers.
