Slimans Sales and Service Inc. aka Slimans Dodge Complaint - Used Car Inspection - Used Car Sales Inspection
AMHERST, OHIO -- ∑ Approx. January 1997 purchased Used 1996 Plymouth Voyager that had supposedly been safety checked. Oil was filthy and needed changed; as well as all reservoirs needed filling. Gas leak found first night in my garage, which took approx. 5 trips to your shop to fix. No compensation offered or given for my time.
I know for a fact the oil had never been changed in van as oil filter still had paint from assembly on lower half of canister.
∑ Purchased GMC Sonoma 5/24/2002, salesman BI, questioned specifically concerning safety checks and my concerns about brake squeal, told it was absolutely safe, would not have been on lot if brakes with less than 50% pad, all reservoirs checked and topped
∑ 5/25 returned to dealership with Sonoma, informed BI and another associate that oil was filthy and I changed it, also had to top off all reservoirs except power steering and tire pressure was 5 to 15 psi under recommendations, brakes continue to squeal and I donít think it is rust. I was again assured brakes had to be ok, assured that truck would not have been placed on lot if failed safety check, call for an appointment to re-check. BI offered 2 free oil changes at that time, I told him one would be satisfactory if I could have truck re-checked.
∑ 5/28 dropped off Sonoma at dealership for check up, informed by PC truck had never gone through safety check or had any service of any kind preformed was told that they would now check it and as further compensation give free oil change and told that still had 3000 miles of manufacture warranty, I expressed concerns at that time about integrity of shop and ask what recourse I would have if not satisfied, was told I would only have GMC warranty, was told absolutely no extension of warranty would be given other than manufacture and parts replaced (given vehicle to drive for the day while truck in shop)
∑ 6/10 Service engine soon light of Sonoma on, Slimanís notified, told I could bring it in for check on 6/11,
∑ 6/11 in shop approx, 30 minutes, told warranty work, ďI have to take it to Bob MorrisĒ unless I want to leave it there with no idea when it will be returned.
∑ I use my time to go to Bob Morris 6/11 approx 2.5 hours and again on 6/19 approx 45 min to have problem resolved.
∑ 7/15 in to Slimanís for first of what I think are 2 free oil changes for Sonoma, Iím informed they (PC and BI) thought it was only one, I state I thought it started out as 3 but settled for 2(I had to explain this to (PC and BI), salesman states well if thatís how I feel since itís only $20 just call to schedule the next one (just like I thought I was supposed to this time)

8/27/2002 voice mail to contact BI, also voice mail from someone else from Slimanís(unable to make out name garbled in recording), called 8/28/2002 at 0830 and left voice mail and number BI could contact me.
8/28 no call from dealership, I return BI call. In short, sorry for the mis-understanding, hate to lose a customer this way. Not going to compensate you any further, now willing to do oil change without a fuss. I stated that any compensation would not involve my returning to their dealership in any way. The extended warranty or the cash would only serve to buy my silence on this issue.
9/6 letter from BBB of Cleveland informing me dealership is not willing to compromise in any form. Enclosed was a letter from P.C. stating that they had notified me the truck had not been safety checked and I had been offered an oil change for my inconvenience, both statements are untrue.
10/7 verbal abuse on voice mail starts from numbers that ring back to Sliman's dealership, no names are given and calls stop when caller ID and phone traps placed on line, also one ring hang ups every hour for approx. 24 hours, also numbers that ring back to Sliman's dealership when called.
