Verizon Informative - I've been fighting Verizon for over a year . . . from across the Pacific!
I left the U.S. last year and called them to cancel my cell phone contract. When I kept receiving bills, I called them to ask why, only to be told that they had "no record of my call." I had two lines (one for myself and one for a friend -- it seemed cheaper at the time to get a joint one) so they whacked me with two early termination fees of $175 each plus some additional unexplained charges.
Since then I've been calling and yelling at every lying, cheating moron with an IQ under 50 that they call customer service reps. Each idiot is worse than the previous one. They act like they're in charge, and give me their name and call center and extention. When I try to reach them later, they either don't exist or I'm told that I can't be transfered to a different call center. Then it starts all over again -- trying to explain to these thick-skulled fools that I'm no longer in the U.S. and that I need to have my termination fee credited.
I've faxed documentation that I'm no longer in the U.S. about three times to three different idiots, who promise to email me a confirmation and don't.
Then there was the halfwit whom I asked why I hadcharges from September when I'd cancelled my contract in June. She said she would look through my record, and gave me her contact details, but as usual, once you hang up the phone there's no way of getting the idiot you spoke to before back.
I can't believe a company like this can get away with this kind of daylight highway robbery, and such obvious lies by its representatives. What can we do when it's our word against some high school dropout that probably can't even spell its own name right and they believe the fool?
