America Online Informative - Poor service - AOL Travel
ARKANSAS -- I booked motel reservations with AOL Travel- The day I arrived at the motel AOL Travel charged my credit card for $166.50 for two (2) nights. When I left the motel(the motel charged me for two(2) nights housing $123.58) 6 days later when I received my credit card bill the two charges were on my bill. I called the number for AOL Travel, 21 minutes later I was told the Manager at the motel was not in , Aol travel would handle, please call back on Monday. I called back on Tuesday and 28 minutes later, was informed that a refund for $123.58 would be made to my account within 48 hours. On Thursday I called again, 48 minutes later, during which time I was told the motel manager was not in but a refund for 4121.56 would be processed in 7 to 10 days! First of all, I was charged within 24 to 48 hours of making the reservations or when I completed my stay. Why ? does it take 7 to 10 days to process a refund? and why the diffference in the quoted rate and the charged rate at the motel? I would like an explanation? I suspect the difference is AOL Travels way of covering cost. Why not be up front and honest! I know now that I will never us AOL Travel again.
