Simoniz Complaint - Refused to cancel order

OSH KOSH, WISCONSIN -- On July 9, 2007 I ordered liquid diamond from www.Simoniz.com. The order process on their site was very confusing. It did not give me the opportunity to review the order before submitting it. After it was confirmed is when I found out that I will be paying almost $45.00 in shipping and handling for a 20-dollar product.

I immediately tried to call and cancel the order. I could not get through to customer service. The automated answering system said they can be contacted by either email or fax. So I emailed them my cancellation.

The next day I did not receive a confirmation. So I emailed again.

On July 16th there was a pending charge from them on my debit card. I tried to call and still could not get through to a human being. So I emailed again with a very angry email. I also printed the email and faxed it to them. The next day the pending charge was removed.

Today, July 26, I noticed the charge had been debited from my debit card account on July 20th. I called the number, had to wait on hold for half an hour, and finally got a customer service rep.

As I tried to explain everything to him, he continued to interrupt me. I continued to say, "I am talking, and you are listening." He refused to listen. He said the order had shipped and there is nothing he could do. I would only get $44.80 back if I return it, which is a $20.00 difference. I'm sure I will have to pay the shipping and handling to send it back as well.

On top of that, on my original order I choose rush shipping, which I paid extra for. This is to have it ship in 5-7 days. It has now been 17 days, or 14 working days. So I paid extra for service that I did not receive. However, they still won’t refund that amount either.

Do not order this product, especially online. You will ask for something inexpensive and end up paying twice as much in shipping and handling. The entire system is a con. Since they will not give me a full refund after my numerous attempts to contact them, I will leave it up to my wife, a lawyer, to handle.

I am currently having the exact same problem with
Simoniz. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State Atty. General. I suggest every one do the same.
