I was too quick to purchase a few items from my house and didn't do my homework to check out the vendor.

HomeAnnex is just a front for other vendors. I ordered kick plates by Brass Accents. No where on the webpage does it say what the material is. I assumed wrongly that they are Brass. I ordered "brown" and got plastic plates stamped "non returnable" on the package. The webpage doesn't mention that the product can be returned.

HomeAnnex is not taking responsibility and says that it is the vendor policy and there is nothing that they can do about. No return--no refund. $50 lost.

Worst online company and worst customer service department of any company that I have experienced. I have purchased thousands of dollars of material and products online for the house.

If you were expecting brass, why did you order brown? If I ordered something that was represented as being yellow metal and turned out to be plastic, I would be sending it back and telling them that the product was unacceptable. The fact that the package was marked 'not returnable' has no bearing. You were sold merchandise that was represented as being one thing, but then sent you something else. That is consumer fraud, pure and simple. I would contact the FTC and the Attorney General's Fraud Division in your state. This is unacceptable.

I second Starlord, and would only add that you should dispute the charge with your CC as soon as possible.
