General Electric Company Complaint - 2 Month Old Microwave Died
MT PLEASANT, PENNSYLVANIA -- We purchased a GE Spacemaker Microwave Open on 5/23/07. It completely died on 7/22/07. It was 1 day from being 2 months old. It popped and died. I called GE and told them it was dead. I wanted a new one since it was so new but they said it would have to be repaired. I had to wait a week for a guy to come out. They have no weekend or evening service hours so I had to take time off work to wait for the guy. He tells me that the tube is broken, the main part of the oven, and he doesn't have the part with him. Figures! He can't tell me when it will be in just that he will order it! I call GE the next day and ask them when the part will be in. They can't even tell me a date! How can they not know??? All they can tell me is that it's ordered. Talk about horrible customer service. I have to hold for over 15 minutes each time and I get no where. I have probably been on hold for over an hour so far trying to get this resolved. So now I have no microwave oven and no idea when it will be fixed. They should have been appalled that they sold such a bad product. It's like buying a new car and it dying in 2 month, being told it is the engine and that they are going to fix it. You would want a new car! Not it repaired. Not that I have any faith in GE products at this point. I will NEVER again purchase GE. They are horrible to deal with and treat their customer like crap. If I have to talk to one more idiot at GE I might go over the edge. If I had money to waste I would junk this stupid microwave and go purchase another brand. It's only 2 months old!!!!!!!!!!!
That is the point they don't seem to care about. I WILL get this piece of crap fixed and if it dies before the 1 year warranty date I will be taking this up with the Attorney General's Office.
