MacMall Complaint - Harassing Sales Calls

TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a laptop computer from MacMall (a division of PC Mall) several months ago. After placing the order, I started getting phone calls, sometimes as early as 7 AM, from a sales rep indicating she was my 'personal account executive' and that she was calling 'just to see if there was anything else I needed'. In other words, a sales call.

I complained about the calls, and asked not to be contacted again. I also wrote a letter, which went unanswered, to the company themselves indicating that I did not wish to be contacted again, and that I would not be doing business with them again. The calls have not stopped desipte my request to be taken off their customer list, and when I asked the sales rep (named Veronica) to let me speak with her supervisor, she always indicated he was unavailable.

Write one more letter, this time using a Cease and desist format. You've already written them one letter- when you mail the C and D, make sure you send it certified that way you have a company signature that you did send it and they did recieve it.

When Veronica calls again, ask for HER home phone number. When she asks why, tell her it's so that you can call her at some equally unreasonable time, like say, 1 a.m. when you go to bed. She'll tell you she can't give it out and then you can remind her that you have requested not to called by her company and if she or anyone does it again, you'll contact the Federal Trade Commission. I've done this more than once and it has never failed.
