Zodiac Flea and Tick for Cats Complaint - Dangerous Product - Zodiac Flea and Tick for Cats

Review by lauriemlnr on 2007-08-03
JOHNSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- I purchased "Zodiac Flea and Tick for Cats" at a local store in my area and applied it to the back of my cat's neck as the directions stated. Shortly after, my cat of 14 years became ill. I took her to see a vet and spoke to additional vets by phone. All were in agreement that the medicine sold over the counter in stores, including Hartz, has been known to send pets into convulsions and possibly result in death. Sadly, my cat passed.

Why this information is not made known to the public, or worse yet, why these people knowingly sell this product, is way beyond me. Anything for money is all I can conclude!

Currently, I am in the process of investigation and filing a lawsuit against the company. In the meantime purchase pet products through your local vet!

I don't think it's dangerous per se'. I mean, it's like this, all drugs have side effects and some drugs have different effects on different people. Some people are allergic to some drugs which others are completely fine with. Allergies can cause severe medical issues including death.

I don't think company INTENTIONALLY tries to kill your pet. I think it's an unfortunate side effect of using any drug or medicine.

Most directions on the boxes say NOT to use on kitten under 2 - 3 months or on older cats.

And I think that 14 years counts as an older cat, I know it does with dogs.
