Hartz advanced 4 in 1 Flea and Tick Drops Plus Complaint - Flea and Tick Drops Plus +

Review by glennafris on 2007-08-05
REDDING, CALIFORNIA -- We have a King Charles Chevalair Spaniel her name is Rudee. She was having problems with fleas, so we purchased this product because we thought HARTZ was a reliable product not that it cost almost 20.00 for a 3 month supply. Well this product did nothing absolutely nada. Poor Rudee has more than she did to start with. We looked on her stomach and there is a whole colony.

Rudee just wanted other pets to tell their owners to not waste their money on this product and THANKS HARTZ for all the chewing, scratching, and biting of all those fleas.

Please visit www.hartzvictims.org. Do not use any flea medications that you can purchase in a grocery store or Wal*Mart, ESPECIALLY Hartz. Their products have KILLED animals.

I only use Frontline plus. It costs $45.00 for a 3 month supply. You can also use K9 Advantix if you do not have any cats which would be around $55.00 for four months or Advantage which would be around $40.00 for four months and can be used around cats.

Thanks for the information Brenda, we've been very lucky so far with our dogs, no fleas, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. Being a small breed and sensitive to many things, we'll get all their meds and treatments at the vets.

Glenn thanks for the reminder to others on the otc medications for animals. In most cases I really don't think they are effective. You mentioned this was for your dog, but in case others are interested, the flea collars will sometimes kill a kitten..so beware.

Brenda mentioned some great products. I buy the Sentinel tabs at the vet's in the 6 month supply. I really don't recall the price but it has the heartworm protection along with the flea control, just like I think Brenda's does. My dog weighs about 10 pounds and I have never seen a flea. I have a pet door so she's outside a good bit. Give one of the products mentioned a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.
