Spirit Airlines Informative - BEWARE They have no grace period for buying tickets
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I hate Spirit Airlines and will NEVER fly with them again. I booked a ticket with them an immediately after booking checked their pet policy (I had planned to travel with my dog) but Spirit doesn't allow pets in carge. So I called the customer service line hoping to get a refund and was only offered a voucher. I understand I should have checked this policy before I booked (my fault!) but I've NEVER experienced an airline that doesn't accept dogs. I was pissed that Spirit didn't offer a grace period after purchasing tickets (it was litterarly a 10 minute window)
So they gave me a voucher and I try to reuse it on another flight a few months later, and they charge me a $60 processing fee. For what??? It made me feel like I wasn't getting a voucher in the amount I paid & deserved, instead I was getting charged a $60 penalty fee.
So then I tried looking for the Corporate Customer Relations number on their website (954-447-7965). The number is NOT posted, you have to call the reservations line, wait 20 minutes, and ask an agent.
On their website, they do have a "email" feature, so I emailed them about my situation and received some of the rudest emails from any type of "Corporate Customer Relations" I've ever experienced. I really think I was just reaching some stupid reservation agent who was saying whatever the hell they wanted because it was annoyomous.
All in all, I had a horrible service, horrible treatment, and they have ASSININE policies that benefit only Spirit Airlines and not their customers.
I hope they go out of business soon.
