Gale Movers Informative - The Schmucks Broke My Brand New Furniture

Review by skrewdnomoore on 2007-08-06
YUMA, ARIZONA -- I am a Marine on Active duty, I got orders to move from Yuma, Az to Cherry Point, NC. I chose to have the Marine Corps contract someone to move my BRAND NEW FURNITURE THAT I PURCHASED WITH MY REENLISTMENT BONUS. This company was GALE MOVERS phone number (928)782-1877. They packaged my furniture poorly, and claimed that some larger items were wrapped, when they were not. Extensive damage to very expensive furniture items was noted at time of delivery. Footboard to $3,000 + bed was busted beyond repair. Woodwork on leather couches scraped and dinged. Washer and dryer mistreated one flipped ontop of the other, severe cosmetic damage, bent, and busted. NOTE ALL OF THESE ITEMS WERE BRAND NEW WHEN THEY WERE PLACED ON THE TRUCK. ITEMS ONLY HAD LESS THAN 2 MONTHS OF USE.

THE MARINE CORPS SHOULD NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THEY WILL ONLY COST THEM MONEY. IF YOU ARE ACTIVE DUTY IN YUMA, AZ. TELL TMO NOT TO ASSIGN THEM TO YOU.

Are they going to do anything about it?

Did you address the damage with the moving company or file a claim? They can't attempt to remedy the situation if you don't tell them about it... in a polite and composed manner.

Have yo filed a damages claim with them, or are you still stuck trying to prove who the "Alpha Male" is?

File your claim through TMO and your insurance company (if anything is missing.) DON'T yell at anyone in TMO. It may take a little time but you will get satisfaction.

P.S. Lay off the "schmicks." It's shmuck and there are worse words to use to describe unscrupulous "business" people.

Is a schmick an irish schmuck?

I'm so sick and tired of people using their circumstances as entitlemen/power/pity. Just the facts please.
