ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- I would like to warn other consumers about Philips products. 14 months ago I bought a brand new Philips 20" flat screen TV. That TV was used Maybe for 10 hours per week - if even that. The other day, when in the middle of a program, both picture and sound went out. The power button stayed lit, but otherwise this TV is as dead as a doornail. When I called Philips, I was told to take it to an authorized repair shop - at a charge, of course, since the TV is out of warranty.
I don't think that a TV that gets so very little use should completety die after such a short time of service and feel that this is extremely poor workmanship. Not to mention that the company does not stand behind it's product. I will not put any more money into this TV, since I expect it will just break soon again...why throw good money after bad? Almost $200.00 down the drain already.
Instead, I will spread the word about the poor performance of Philips products and make sure that everybody I know will avoid them. I will never again buy anything "Philips".
