WirelessUnlocking.com Complaint - Did not provide service and won't refund charge

Review by TLC29 on 2007-08-08
We paid wirelessunlocking.com to remotely unlock our T-Mobile cell phone. They did not send us an unlock code, so after many days, we asked where it was. They told us they had e-mailed it but would e-mail it again. After we re-sent them our info, they said they couldn't unlock our phone, which means when they said they had sent us an e-mail with the code before, it was a lie. We then asked for a refund of our PayPal payment, since they had not provided the service. They have not replied in the month since. I have filed a resolution through PayPal, which they did not respond to. I have escalated it to a claim, which they did not reply to.

Now, I am making sure they and everyone who reads this knows that THEY ARE A SCAM. Please, do not use this company.

What is the purpose of unlocking a phone, and why was it locked in the first place?

You use an unlocking service to take a Cingular phone to Sprint. Phones are 'locked' into using a specific carriers service. This forces you to buy a new cell phone if you change carriers. If you unlock the phone you can use it on any wireless network.

yes, we bought a replacement cell phone on e-bay that was t-mobile, but we have Cingular. so, we needed it unlocked, and they said they could do it online. most places have to physically have the phone to unlock it.

Back in June I also asked this company to help me unlock my cell phone. I received an e-mail stating that they couldn't help me and that I would receive a full refund, which I have not received till this day. I tried to resolve this problem through pay pal but unfortunately PayPal is unable to help me, who knows why. I agree this company is a scam. Don't anybody do business with this company...unless you want to get ripped off.

syro, use this e-mail address,

forward your communication to them, and see if they will refund your money. they finally gave me one, but only after i informed them i reported them here and to rip-off report. if they won't let them know you are going to do the same thing and maybe that will work?
