D'Poly Mexican Restaurant Informative - D'Poly has wicked awesome food

Review by skrewdnomoore on 2007-08-08
CALEXICO, CALIFORNIA -- D'Poly Restaurant located in Calexico, Ca has some of the best Mexican food immediately north of the border.

My personal favorite is the Chimichanga. This is the first dish I try at any Mexican restaurant. Instead of steak like at El Bracero, I generally order the Machaca (shredded beef) chimichanga. Instead of liquid melted goat cheese, the chimichanga is covered with what looks to be mozerella, and is topped with lettuce and avocado.

My wife always gets the Costillas (Ribs) con Salsa Rojo (w/ red sauce). This dish is best when eaten with corn tortillas. It is a little spicy, but the waiters always keep you with a full glass.

Another wonderful dish D'Poly is known for is their Chile Rellenos (Fried Peppers stuffed with Cheese). Aside from my wife's chile relleno's D'Poly has the best.

If you find yourself passing through Calexico, Ca stop by D'Poly.

Sounds great! I also gauge Mexican restaurants by their chimichangas, and used to think Los Hermanos in Superior was tops, until I tried the Casa Palomino, in Coolidge. We have so many Mexican Restaurants in Pinal County, it really gets depressing at times. Mexican and Chinese. I love a wide variety of foods, and mourn the limited menu we get here. We have to go to Phoenix to find other good places to eat. Good luck.
